The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced important updates to the UPI system starting August 1, 2025. These changes aim to improve transaction efficiency, reduce API load, and enhance user protection.

- Linked bank account views capped at 25 per day
- Autopay transactions allowed only before 10 AM or after 9:30 PM
- Transaction status can be checked only 3 times with 90-second gaps
- Recipient name and transaction ID must be displayed before payment
- Non-compliant apps may face API limits or customer onboarding restrictions

๐ Biometric Login Coming Soon
NPCI plans to introduce biometric authentication (fingerprint or facial scan) as an alternative to UPI PIN. This will further enhance transaction security and user convenience.
